Meet The Hosts
Originally from Owensboro, Kentucky, Tim began his career in public accounting in 1996 with a regional firm in Western Kentucky. In late 1998 he decided to join a global manufacturing company where he spent the next 17 years of his career in various accounting, finance, and leadership roles. The last 9-plus years were spent in Charlotte, NC, as the VP of Finance for two separate business units under the same parent company.
After taking the company public in 2007, the company sold the business units in which Tim was involved to a Japanese multinational conglomerate. The sale of his company afforded him the opportunity to do something he had always dreamed of: become a financial advisor. After a year in the industry, Tim decided to join Family Wealth Strategies. He was impressed with our company’s holistic approach to helping clients address their specific needs. Tim attended Centre College and Brescia College and graduated summa cum laude in 1996 with a B.S. in accounting. He also graduated from Murray State University in 2005 with an MBA. In addition, Tim received the CPA professional designation in 1999. He and his wife, Somer, have 4 children: Jack, Emma, Ruby, and Rhett. In 2016, Tim relocated his family from Rock Hill, SC (Charlotte metropolitan area) to Prospect, Kentucky.
Aaron Ulrich is a veteran financial advisor who has called Kentucky home his entire life. As a young professional, Aaron was drawn to the financial planning industry, but not the pushy sales tactics utilized by many major firms. He became a licensed financial advisor with Waddell & Reed in 2008, and in 2012 partnered with Dave Ramsey as an endorsed local provider. With that endorsement, Aaron built a practice that focused on leading hundreds of families and small businesses through their financial planning and investment decisions.
Grounded with a biblical foundation for budgeting, giving, and avoiding debt, Aaron uses those principles as a starting point for his personal financial decisions. A desire to go beyond that starting point, helping clients plan for a full retirement, led him to accepting a position with Family Wealth Strategies. As a fiduciary, Aaron holds the series 65, Kentucky life and health insurance licenses. He’s is a graduate of Oldham County High School and received his Business Administration degree from University of Louisville. Aaron now lives in the Prospect area with his wife Michelle. They are active members of Crestwood United Methodist Church, where you can find him playing the drums for the contemporary service on Sunday mornings.
